This site is a static personal academic website. It does not run any analytics, does not set any cookies, does not collect or store any personal data from visitors itself, and has no contact form. It does load a small number of embedded third-party resources (one YouTube-hosted video on the Bochum thesis page, one Vimeo-hosted video on the second-master's-thesis page, and one CDN-hosted script for a 3D molecule viewer) — these are listed individually below, with the data they receive when their content is loaded.

Like every web server, the host (Cloudflare Pages, located on Cloudflare's global content-delivery network) automatically records standard technical access information when this site is requested: IP address, browser user-agent string, the URL requested, the referring URL (if any), and the request timestamp. These logs are used to deliver the page, to keep the site reachable, and for security purposes (e.g., DDoS mitigation). They are processed by Cloudflare under their own privacy terms (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy). Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — legitimate interest in operating the website.

This site sets no cookies of its own. The third-party embeds listed below set their own cookies only when their content is actually loaded (i.e., when you open a page containing them or press play on a video).

YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, EU; ultimate parent Google LLC, USA) — one video is embedded on the Bochum thesis page, using the youtube-nocookie.com privacy-enhanced domain so no tracking cookies are set unless you press play. When you do press play, YouTube/Google receives your IP address, user-agent, and watch data under Google's privacy policy.

Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., USA) — one video is embedded on the second-master's-thesis page, with the dnt=1 "do not track" flag set. Vimeo receives your IP and standard request data when the player loads; see vimeo.com/privacy.

3Dmol.js / Cloudflare CDN — the second-master's-thesis page loads the 3Dmol.js library from cdnjs.cloudflare.com to render an interactive 3D protein structure. When this script is fetched, Cloudflare receives your IP and standard request data; see Cloudflare's privacy policy linked above.

External profile links — links to ORCID, Google Scholar, ResearchGate, LinkedIn, GitHub and Instagram are plain outbound links. No data is shared with those providers until you click and visit them, at which point their own privacy policies apply.

Legal basis for all of the above: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (your consent, given by interacting with the embedded content) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in offering interactive scientific content).

You have the right at any time to:

• Obtain information about which personal data of yours is being processed (Art. 15 GDPR).
• Request correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR).
• Request deletion of your data (Art. 17 GDPR).
• Request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR).
• Request data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR).
• Withdraw any consent at any time with future effect (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Bremen, this is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit der Freien Hansestadt Bremen.
